FRESQUE FRAGILE
Cévenes forest
When the planet becomes too hot and cities continue to flourish,
we may find ourselves dreaming of the forest taking over again, of coming here to stroll and cool off.
This forest is also about resilience.
The journey of a lifetime with wounds that we repair or adapt, like this FRAGILE fresco
created from seven works damaged during exhibitions.
These serve as the basis for a different, imperfect and new work,
without denying their history, which appears here and there through their new guise.

PROMENONS-NOUS DANS LES BOIS
Fautaua Valley, Polynesia
"With a sprained little toe from the waterfall at the top of the valley,
I needed to occupy my mind with something other than the pain on the way back down.
So I copiously took photos of the forest.
A few years later, I realised that certain photos, arranged side by side,
perfectly to create an illusion of unity that paid tribute to this forest.
And a few years later, I wanted to install it on old damaged iridescent panels,
revealing only what I considered to be the jewels of humanity from these old works.
This is how ‘Let's go for a walk in the woods’ was born.
Thus was born ‘Promenons-nous dans les bois’".

IN SEARCH OF THE SALTWATER SOURCE
Sougraigne Forest, Aude, Occitanie
"A forest at the end of the world where I ventured alone, late at night,
driven only by the courage I had gained from my conversation with the crêpe maker in Sougraigne,
who had encouraged me to embark on this adventure.
I searched and found the saltwater spring; a tiny, unsuspected promontory
gurgling silently."
